The Amhara Regional State Council has elected Arega Kebede as Chief Administrator of the Regional State.

The election came after the council approved the resignation letter of former chief administrator, Yilkal Kefale, it was indicated.

In its emergency session which began today in Bahir Dar city, the regional council has reviewed the current security situation of the Amhara region which has been under state of emergency.

The council is also expected to set the next directions.
