Ayako welcomes President Ruto as the county prepares for Wednesday’s grand reception

Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko has welcomed the move by President William Ruto to visit various parts of the county to launch developmental projects.

Speaking to the media at his official residence, Ayako outlined a wish list of areas where he hoped the President would assist, such as the expansion of the airstrip in Lichota and the completion of unfinished roads.

President Ruto is set to visit Migori on Wednesday August 28 to launch the Kegonga water project in Kuria East Sub County, inspect the Lower Kuja Irrigation Project and launch the Ngege-Mapera Road.

Ayako noted that the President was also expected to embark on a renaissance of a previously launched project in Lower Kuja to ensure the efficient distribution of water to diverse homesteads within the county.

‘We are hoping that the inspection of the lower Kuja Irrigation project will unleash the full agricultural potential of Migori through the rejuvenation of Nyatike’s fertile lands,’ said Ayako.

The Governor also highlighted issues he would put
in memoranda including various road projects like the Masara-Sori road that remained unfinished, the operationalisation of the Getonganya sweet potato processing plant and the border disputes along the Narok-Migori Counties.

Nyatike Member of Parliament Tom Odenge who accompanied Governor Ayako disclosed that the people of Nyatike would present a petition to President Ruto to di-gazette Macalder forest that he claimed would disinherit the residents.
