Bomet Is Receiving Specialized Lab Equipment For Improved Kidney Treatment

Capacity for diagnosis and treatment of Kidney diseases has been boosted at the Longisa County Referral Hospital, following delivery of specialized equipment.

The equipment, ranging from electrolyte analysers, biochemistry equipment, and automatic urine analysers, were donated by Prime Health Limited in conjunction with the Austrian Embassy.

While receiving the equipment, Bomet Governor Prof Hillary Barchok, lauded Prime Health Limited, for its commitment to their partnership with Bomet County, in seeking to ensure the provision of quality services to wananchi.

Barchok noted that Longisa will be able to better handle more patients in the dialysis unit, lauding the medical specialists at the dialysis unit for their prudent use of equipment delivered earlier.

With upgraded capacity, the Governor said, Longisa County Referral Hospital should be upgraded from level four to level five, so as to provide a wider array of specialized and general medical services. Barchok further said, some of the equipment would
be distributed to Ndanai Sub-County hospital, while others would go to health centres and dispensaries across the County.

The County Boss said the health department was overseeing the distribution of malaria prevention and treatment equipment to 11 hotspots, mapped out earlier across the County.
