Boulgou Elects New School Council for Departmental High School

Boulgou: The Bittou Departmental High School held its first general assembly on Monday, marking a significant shift in its governance structure with the election of a 13-member School Council and a three-member Control Committee. This newly formed council replaces the former Parents’ Association (APE).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the assembly brought together various community stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, representatives of technical services, village development committees, teaching staff, parents, and students. The school’s principal, Isidore Sare, emphasized that the new School Council is tasked with fostering community involvement in school activities, devising strategies to gather financial and material resources, and encouraging parental engagement in educational matters.

Mr. Sare articulated his hopes for the new council, expressing a desire for active parental involvement in addressing educational and disciplinary issues for the betterment of learners. He commended the strong participation from leaders and parents in the assembly.

Ibrahim Maga, elected as the president of the School Council, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and called upon his colleagues to collaboratively tackle the challenges ahead. “I thank the school staff and all stakeholders for the trust placed in me,” Maga stated.

In response to the establishment of the new council, former APE officials expressed their support and encouraged the new members to achieve success in their mission.
