The cause of the fire that destroyed huge portions of the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg last year is still unknown, according to Gauteng officials. According to Thabo Masebe, a spokeswoman for the Gauteng Department of Health, around 30% of the hospital’s infrastructure that was destroyed has yet to be repaired.
