County Government of Nyandarua to fast track completion of water projects


Nyandarua Governor Kiarie Badilisha has pledged to expedite the completion of ongoing water projects in Ndaragwa Constituency.

Governor Badilisha stated that the completion of water projects will ensure sustainable water supply for Ndaragwa residents for both domestic and irrigation purposes.

He particularly observed completion of Leshau- Karaguini and Kirima water projects as crucial in ensuring adequate water supply.

He assured Ndaragwa Constituency residents that the Leshau-Karaguini water project, their lifeline, would never fail or stall, citing the government’s purchase of a transformer.

Badilisha said they are going to work closely with national government to ensure the projects are successfully completed.

He further revealed that President William Ruto had promised Sh600 Million for Kirima water project assuring the constituents that he will continue following up with national government to ensure projects funds are released.

On avocado farming the governor applauded residents of Kiriita area f
or spearheading growing of avocado and promised them an avocado factory as a reward for their industriousness in avocado farming.

He however retaliated that it is time for change in the method of farming from traditional and subsistence agriculture which has not added much economic value in their lives to modern and smart farming which will boost them economically.

The county boss highlighted the government’s efforts to diversify agriculture by introducing new crops like sugar beets and apples to boost residents’ economic prospects.

Nyandarua County Commissioner, Abdilasaak Jaldesa, praised Ndaragwa residents for their environmental conservation efforts, including planting trees in Aberdare forest and preserving the water tower.

Jaldesa stated that the water from the Aberdare is being utilized to supply water to dry areas such as Isiolo and Wajir.
