County Supports Mother Of Triplets

The County Government of Uasin Gishu, through the Department of Social Services, has come to the aid of a mother who gave birth to triplets in Koitebes village, Kesses Sub-county.

The family was visited by the social services team with foodstuffs, clothes, and bedding.

Mary Morogo, a mother of ten children, experienced conflicting emotions over her triplets.

Mary Morogo speaking during the presentation of the donations noted that she is happy about the triple blessing, although she was extremely worried about how she was going to provide for her babies, as she has always depended on the small wages she earns from tending people’s farms with her husband Reuben Morogo

‘My challenge now is to figure out how to feed and shelter them. I appreciate the donations from the Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, and the other well-wishers,’ said Morogo.

The Chief Officer for Social Services Eunice Suter added that the family home is in terrible shape and cannot sustain the upbringing of the young babies.

‘The family lives o
n the edge of poverty and in despair, caring for the triplets will be overwhelming hence urgent measures need to be done by volunteering people to ensure that they get basic needs,’ she said.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu, the office of Member of Parliament Kesses constituency, and the community have committed to constructing a house for the family.

The Director for Social Service, Peter Ruto said, that they have a draft policy in place that champions access to shelter to the vulnerable members in the society awaiting re-submission to the cabinet for approval.

He affirmed the county’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of the less fortunate in the community.

Asbel Choge, an assistant Administrator, and other social workers were present during the presentation of the donations.
