Deputy PM Extends Ireecha Holiday Greetings, Stresses Multinational Unity, Gratitude


Addis ababa: Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has conveyed a congratulatory message for the 2025 Irreecha Thanksgiving Holiday.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, in a message posted on his social media page, the Deputy Prime Minister described Irreecha as a day of thanks, emphasizing that it is primarily a festival where the Creator, who saturated the earth with rain, is praised with gratitude.



He elaborated that during this hopeful time, the Oromo people emerge from the challenging period of the rainy season to gather in public spaces. There, they offer thanks to the Creator who ushered them into a new, abundant season of light.



The deputy prime minister further noted that Irreecha serves to close the past year and begin a new one.



He stressed that Irreecha is a vital Ethiopian value that helps build a culture of thanksgiving, strengthens multinational unity, and ensures that Ethiopia is for all, by all, and in all respects.



He concluded his message by wishing everyone a joyful holiday of gratitude and unity.
