China has listed Ethiopia among several countries of different continents as a relevant country for travel agencies to resume the operation of Chinese outbound travelers.
China’s General Office at Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has issued a comprehensive list of countries classified by region.
The list included several countries from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, South America and North America.
In the list, which included 18 African countries, Ethiopia is described as one of the destinations.
China’s decision to resume travel operation is expected to stimulate the tourism sector of countries like Ethiopia.
The country has made the tourism sector its top priority for growth and working on creating suitable condition for foreign tourists.
Thus, the economic importance of these travel experiences after the resumption of the operation of travel agencies for Chinese travelers to go to Ethiopia would have not only benefit for individuals but also for the overall growth and cooperation of the countries.
Since the resumption of the pilot program of travel agencies operating outbound group tours for Chinese citizens to relevant countries “the overall outbound tourism market has been operating smoothly and orderly, which has played a positive role in promoting tourism exchanges and cooperation.”
In order to implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and further serve economic and social development, the release stated that the ministry notifies “the following matters concerning the resumption of travel agencies operating Chinese citizens’ outbound group tours to (the listed) relevant countries and regions.”
It further stated that “from now on, national travel agencies and online travel companies will be resumed to operate outbound group tours and air ticket and hotel, business for Chinese citizens to relevant countries and regions.”
The travel agencies are facilitators of unforgettable travel experiences, bridging the gap between peoples, cultures and creating lifelong memories for Chinese citizens venturing beyond their homeland.
