Addis Ababa: The 129th anniversary of the Victory of Adwa is being celebrated under the theme: 'Adwa: Victory of Black People.' The commemoration is taking place at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa, with several prominent figures in attendance. According to Ethiopian News Agency, the event is graced by the presence of President Taye Atske Selassie, Speaker of the House of Peoples Representative Tagesse Chafo, Speaker of the House of Federation Agegnehu Teshager, Minister of Defense Aisha Mohammed, and Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula. Additionally, the President of The Ethiopian Patriots Association, Lij Daniel Jote Mesfin, is part of the gathering. The celebration is also attended by the African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat, Ambassadors from various countries, representatives of international organizations, and members of the Ethiopian defense forces, among other invited guests. The Victory of Adwa is recogniz ed as an emblematic triumph for black people, teaching lessons of heroism, solidarity, and unity to future generations.
