Kasipul Mp Laud Police Over Improved Security


Kasipul MP Charles Ongondo has lauded the police in the constituency for reducing crime

He said the police are doing a good work and asked the residents to support them by reporting crime and offering evidence to help police action.

However, the MP said the residents should also take their security seriously by returning to their homes in good time

‘You can’t be moving from one bar to another until midnight and when you run into trouble you begin to blame security apparatus,’ the MP said

He said the police are also human being saying they are our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers

‘Even me as an MP if my people have dropped me at home, and I decide to leave for Oyugis town by foot, when I am attacked I should not blame the police,’ he said.

However, the MP said there are pockets of criminals coming from outside of Kasipul constituency saying evidence saw some of them are serial thieves and killers and the police deal with them as such since they will mess up the constituency

‘The criminals are not fr
om Kasipul constituency, they are from Migori, some from Kisumu and they are hired to come,’ he said.

The MP was speaking during ceremony to mark 61st Madaraka day held in Nyang’iela in Konwong’a location in Kasipul division.

During the event Hon. Were also asked residents to stop selling land without care or regard for value.

George Waweru Rachuonyo south sub county deputy county commissioner (DCC) praised the residents for turning up in numbers to celebrate the day.

He asked leaders to work together so that the people benefit from the services they offer.
