Kenedougou Pushes for Malaria Vaccine Introduction in Orodara Health District

Kenedougou: As part of the fight against malaria, the Secretary General of the Kenedougou province, Bassanma Ko, chaired an advocacy and mobilization meeting in Orodara. The meeting was focused on scaling up the malaria vaccine.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was organized by the Orodara health district with support from its partners. It aimed to present the epidemiological situation of malaria in the district and the preparations underway for introducing the new vaccine. Malaria remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the region, particularly among children under five.

Health authorities plan to intensify prevention efforts through vaccination in response to the situation. An update was also provided on the progress of construction work at the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna in Orodara. This infrastructure aims to strengthen healthcare provision in the area.

The Secretary General, Bassanma Ko, acknowledged the commitment of technical and financial partners and urged all stakeholders to support the vaccine’s introduction. “The fight against malaria is everyone’s business. The introduction of the vaccine is a major step forward that we must collectively support to protect our children and improve public health,” he emphasized.
