Khushiku Residents Benefit From Community Water Project

Khushiku residents can now afford to smile as area Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka launched a community water project for easy access to a clean and reliable supply. Aseka said the move signified a step towards improving the overall quality of life for the people in the area he served. The sustainable water project is based at Khushiku sub-location, Kisa Central ward, in Khwisero sub-county. ‘This transformative and momentous initiative will create a thriving community built on the foundation of basic necessity and shared prosperity,’ Aseka said. The legislator was speaking yesterday during the launch of the water project in the sub-county and was accompanied by various stakeholders. He said the essential commodity will restore water access once completed and offer clean portable water in the region. Water scarcity in Kenya affects most of its citizens, who rely on water resources not only for drinking but also for agriculture and fishing. The project is set to benefit more than 7,000 families in the area since about 15,000 households are disadvantaged in accessing clean and safe water for domestic use.
