Alleged murderer Sakeus Ngifikua’s case was postponed to 05 October 2023 in the Windhoek High Court on Thursday.
This came after the accused was granted bail of N.dollars 3 000 last year. It is alleged that he killed a man by the name of Kauluma, by shooting him at close range with a 9mm pistol on 18 February 2015. Ngifikua is on trial for the alleged murder of the man in 2015.
Ngifikua was also charged with attempted murder, alternatively negligent discharge of a firearm, for shooting Josefa Ndahafa in the head and shoulder with the same firearm on the same date.
The suspect was charged on another count of attempted murder, alternatively negligent discharge of a firearm, for shooting at Tweumena Ndeshihafela with the same firearm on the same date.
In the absence of the Deputy Prosecuter-General, Antonia Verhoef who is representing the State, Justice Christie Liebenberg during the court session stated that Ngifikua and the State witnesses are expected to appear in the Windhoek High Court on 05 October and that failure to do so would lead to legal action against them.
Ngifikua will be represented by his defence lawyer, Tangeni Ausiku.
It is not clear from the record what led to the shooting incident. Ngifikwa entered a Section 199 plea of not guilty on all charges on 30 March 2016. A Section 119 plea is for an accused to indicate his plea for the PG to decide on what charges and in which court he would be tried. He was granted the bail on 15 August last year.
