Nairobi: Presidential hopeful Dr. Fred Matiangi has urged elected Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders in the Nyanza region to remain united as a tribute to the late party leader, the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga. According to Kenya News Agency, speaking at Milimani Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oyugis town, Homabay County, Dr. Matiangi called upon the six Governors and six Senators from the region, who were elected on the Azimio ticket, to stick together. He emphasized that it would be a shame for those mentored by the peace-loving Baba to disunite. Matiangi called for prayers for peace and comfort for the bereaved family, adding that it was an honor to the departed if all, including members of Parliament and Woman Representatives, remained focused on achieving a peaceful country. The former Interior Minister described how Raila would reach out to conflicting factions with wisdom, advising people without discrimination. He urged the residents to support all elected leaders as they built the n ation post-Raila.
