Menzies seeking suspension of court order

Menzies Aviation Namibia has sought suspension on their court order, in terms of which Menzies was supposed to cease rendering ground handling services at Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) on Monday.

A statement issued by the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) on Tuesday said that Menzies instituted urgent court proceedings that were served on NAC and Paragon Investment Holdings on Monday, seeking the suspension of the court order directing that Menzies should cease rendering ground handling services at HKIA on Monday.

According to NAC spokesperson Dan Kamati, a court hearing took place late afternoon on Monday and explained that in accordance to hearing legal submissions from the legal representatives of both parties, the court reserved judgement to Thursday.

Kamati added that in light of the foregoing developments, Menzies will continue providing ground handling services at HKIA in the intervening period, pending the delivery of judgement.

Menzies was supposed to cease ground handling on Monday and Paragon Investment Holdings in joint venture with Ethiopian Airlines would have commenced rendering ground services at HKIA on Tuesday.
