The County Government is opening up new roads, building crucial link roads, and upgrading existing ones, ensuring even the most remote villages are not left behind.

Speaking at Ilkerin Girls Secondary School during the commissioning of a newly graded and murram road in Ilkerin Centre, as well as a new dormitory for the school, Governor Patrick Ntutu emphasized the significance of these initiatives. He highlighted the challenges faced by inaccessible rural communities in reaching local markets and essential services.

‘Our people are unable to transport goods or access critical amenities, but we are changing that narrative,’ Ntutu said.

Governor Ntutu described the construction of footbridges as a significant breakthrough, providing safe passage for residents and livestock, especially during heavy rainy seasons when rivers burst their banks.

‘These bridges and new
link roads have streamlined transportation, cutting travel time and making it easier for locals to bring their agricultural produce to the urban markets, fueling the county’s economy,’ said Governor Ntutu.

Governor Ntutu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that grassroots communities, historically overlooked, are now at the front and center in Narok’s development agenda.

‘By improving these roads, we are not just meeting immediate needs, but setting the stage for long-term growth and prosperity,’ added Ntutu.
