The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has carried out identification of participants in five regional states and two city administrations, National Dialogue Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya disclosed.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has today discussed with the leaders of Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission about the performance of the activities undertaken by the commission so far.
In addition to the Premier, Speaker of the House of Peoples Representatives Tagesse Chaffo, Vice President of Prosperity Party, Adem Farah, members of the council of ministers, and other high-level government officials attended the meeting.
During the occasion, National Dialogue Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya said in the process so far, the commission has been carrying out preparations to enable the national dialogue participatory.
Hence, the commission has carried out discussions with various sections of the society, he said noting that today’s meeting is part of the on going process.
The main target of the discussion is to enable the government understand about the activities that the commission has so far done, he further elaborated.
Stating that the commission has carried out identification of participants in two city administrations and five regional states, he affirmed such activities will be continued.
Deputy Chief Commissioner of the National Dialogue Commission Hirut Gebre-Selassie said for her part that this meeting has been productive.
In addition to its support for the success of the activities of the commission, the government has also affirmed its commitment to implement the consensus reached at the end of the national dialogue, she pointed out.
The ruling Prosperity Party Vice President, Adem Farah during the meeting commended the activities so far carried out by the commission and the overall efforts being undertaken to ensure the inclusiveness of the national dialogue as encouraging pledging to continue his party’s ongoing support to the successful conduct of the national dialogue.
Recall that the commission is meant to “pave the way for national consensus and keep the integrity of the country.
