Nyandarua County Commissioner Calls for Unified Efforts in Government Project Implementation

Nyandarua: Nyandarua County Commissioner, Abdirisack Jaldesa, has underscored the importance of collaboration among government departments to ensure the effective execution of projects within the county. Jaldesa, who chaired the Nyandarua County Implementation Coordination and Management Committee (CICMC), emphasized that the interconnected nature of departmental services necessitates a cooperative approach to avoid conflicts in project implementation.

According to Kenya News Agency, Jaldesa highlighted the need for departments to support each other, especially given the scarcity of resources, and stressed the importance of prioritizing projects based on consultations with the citizens who are the ultimate beneficiaries. He urged the committee members to engage with the public to better understand their needs, which would inform the prioritization process.

Jaldesa also called on committee members to address challenges in project implementation by promoting government initiatives with dedication and patriotism. He separately tasked National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) and security agencies in Nyandarua County with curbing the issue of stock theft that adversely affects local milk farmers.

Government Development Unit (GDU) Director, Ms. Mukami Matemo, reiterated the role of the CICMC and GDU in enhancing coordination and seamless project implementation. She explained that the GDU, in collaboration with the CICMC, is responsible for ensuring that projects listed in the GDU portal are executed effectively and within the designated timelines.

Ms. Matemo encouraged committee members to make Nyandarua County a model of efficient project implementation and stressed the importance of prudent financial management. She also urged NGAO to identify and report unmonitored projects within their areas to ensure they are included in monitoring activities.
