Over 250,000 People Visited Diplomacy Week Exhibition Organized by Foreign MinistryZambezi to host Independence Day celebration

The diplomacy week exhibition organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has attracted over 250,000 visitors.

An exhibition highlighting Ethiopia’s 116-year diplomatic history and contemporary diplomatic accomplishments opened on the 11th of January and visited by the public for the past 48 days at the Science Museum in Addis Ababa under the theme “From an African Hub to the World.”State Minister of Foreign Affairs Birtukan Ayano in her briefing to the media today said that over 250,000 people visited the diplomacy week exhibition.

Among the visitors were employees of various government institutions, higher government officials, students, diplomatic communities residing in Addis Ababa, and international organizations among others.

Various events that promote Ethiopia’s age old diplomatic activities had been held as part of the diplomacy week. The state minister finally extended gratitude to organizations and institutions that contributed to the successful conclusion of the exhibition.

The exhibition enc
ompasses photographs revealing moments of the historical events related to visits and bilateral meetings of heads of state, Ethiopia’s efforts for international peace, its aspiration and supports for the freedom of African nations, among others.

KATIMA MULILO: The 34th National Independence Day celebrations will be held in the Zambezi Region this year.

This is the first time the Zambezi Region is hosting the national independence celebration.

In terms of historic and political events, the region has hosted Heroes’ Day in 2005.

Zambezi Chief Regional Officer, Regina Ndopu, confirmed to Nampa on Thursday that the regional council has received the notification already concerning the event from the headquarters and in turn, local authorities have formed committees to prepare for this major event.

‘This is a national event. We therefore pride ourselves to host this event at this time in 2024. Apart from the locals, we are expecting to receive more outside delegations including international guests,’ Ndopu stated.

She said more information regarding the event will be shared in due course.

Namibia attained independence on 21 March 1990.
