Over 5.6 Billion Birr Worth Import Products Substituted Locally by Souffle Malt Ethiopia


Addis Ababa: Industrial Parks Development Corporation CEO, Fisseha Yitagesu pledged to provide all the necessary support to expand the investment of Souffle Malt Manufacturing Company located in Bole Lemi Industrial Park.

The CEO made the remark while a discussion held with Thomas Neveu, General Manager of Souffle Malt Ethiopia.

In their discussion, they exchanged productive ideas about the company’s current production process, increasing production and exports as well as further investment expansion.

On the occasion, Fisseha, pointed out that the company has made a great contribution to Ethiopia’s effort to completely replace beer barley malt with domestic production and that it should start exporting to countries like Kenya that have a high demand for the product.

He additionally confirmed that the company will be given comprehensive support to start its investment expansion on the additional 2 hectares of land it took at Bole Lemi Industrial Park.

Souffle Malt Ethiopia is a well-known French beer barl
ey malt producer, and by investing huge capital in Bole Limi Industrial Park, it has created job opportunities for more than 110 citizens and market linkage for more than 60,000 farmers in Arsi and Bale zones in the Oromia region.

The company has also contributing to Ethiopia’s effort to enhance substitution.

For instance , over 5.6 billion birr worth of import products were substituted locally by Souffle Malt Ethiopia during the concluded fiscal year.
