Addis Ababa: President Sahlework Zewde urged the newly appointed 24 ambassadors to work diligently and maintain Ethiopia's national interest. The newly appointed ambassadors; which 10 are plenipotentiary, have been taking training on various issues for a consecutive three weeks. During occasion, President Sahlework urged the ambassadors to use all their potential in ensuring Ethiopia's national interest. This appointment unique from all the previous ones as all the appointee are career diplomats, the President said, and added that this clearly demonstrates the government's commitment in prioritizing professionalism. Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Taye Atske Selassie also commended the government's decision in appointing all ambassadors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasized that the new ambassadors should discharge their due responsibility in ensuring the country's national interest. Furthermore, the Minister stressed Ethiopia's readiness to cooperate with any country as long as it is based on mutual trust, respect and benefit.
