Security Measures In Place For Devolution Conference In Eldoret

As Uasin Gishu County readies itself to host this year’s devolution conference, County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale has assured residents and invited guests at large that the government has put in place sufficient measures to provide security in the county, particularly in the municipality of Eldoret, when the event takes place.

The 8th Devolution Conference 2023 will run from August 15-19, 2023.

Speaking at Ainabtich, Kimumu Ward, Moiben Sub County in Eldoret, the county administrator pointed out that the national security and intelligence committee, working together with the county government, had done a commendable job by conducting intensified patrols to secure social places, business places, and residential areas, among others.

‘As we expect to host the devolution summit in 2023, we, the national security team, want to assure citizens and all the guests who will visit us in August that everything is okay and security plans are in order,’ said Dr. Nyale.

‘We continue to cleanse our social and business places; we are working together with the county government to ensure all those places are secure and that only legal businesses are ongoing,’ he added.

He called for collaboration between leaders, members of the communities, and other stakeholders to work together to promote unity and peaceful coexistence in the county.

Uasin Governor Jonathan Chelilim called upon all stakeholders, especially the business class, to prepare themselves to welcome guests and utilize the opportunity by offering quality services to more than 10,000 guests who would attend the biennial devolution conference in August.

‘This conference presents a unique opportunity to showcase the progress and the potential of our royal county, further enhancing its reputation as a hub of growth and development,’ he noted.
