Addis Ababa: The United Nations Interagency Task Force (UNIATF) has recognized Ethiopia for its success in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. Ethiopia has received this recognition on the margins of the 9th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79), taking place at the UN Headquarters in New York. The recognition was given for Ethiopia's achievements in carrying out integrated non-communicable disease prevention. The country has also made commendable jobs controlling non-communicable diseases and providing community-based services, especially in cervical cancer prevention, according to the Minister of Health.
