Addis Ababa: United States Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ervin Massinga, who participated at the 600 million planting seedlings in a single day in Addis Ababa, highlighted the importance of Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative.

Ethiopians from all walks of life are participating at the planting of 600 million samplings in a single day.

He elaborated that agricultural producers can generate income, and they can protect their land and prevent themselves.

For the ambassador, the initiative is instrumental to farmers to prevent themselves from using marginal lands that contribute to landslides and other problems.

“Protection of the forest includes planting like we are doing today, but it also includes helping rural people in Ethiopia, protect their land.’

The Ambassador reiterated that the United States is going to continue doing that through its university partnerships, with the federal and regional governments.
