Victorious Macron faces next hurdles: cabinet choice, June elections

Newly re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron began the work of forming a new government on Monday, the day after seeing off an electoral challenge from far-right leader Marine Le Pen. The next hurdle for the centrist president is parliamentary elections on June 12 and 19. Unless his party, The Republic on the Move (La République En Marche) can secure another majority in the National Assembly, Macron faces several difficult years ahead trying to push through his legislative agenda.
